Installation at Times Museum, Guangzhou:

Star House above the Breaking Waves explores the entanglement of ecological, historical, and economic narratives within a fictional coastal Namkong City by the Southern Sea in the year 2046. Through a fragmented narrative framed by a hacked AI archivist, the work juxtaposes ancient myths, tales of piracy, and history of real estate development to depict a complex multigenerational relationship with the ocean. Tracing the lineage of the Gods of Fire and the South Sea, a Qing-era pirate turned scholar, a 20th-century real estate developer, and future climate narrative—the work examines how systems of power and resistance shape the city’s past, present, and speculative future.
